Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian pacer, has been out of the Indian cricket team due to injuries. He missed the Asia Cup in 2022 due to a back injury and was out of the T20 World Cup in 2022 after hurting his back again. After months of hard work at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, Bumrah regained his fitness and was added to the India squad for the three-match ODI against Sri Lanka a few days after the original squad was announced without him. However, he pulled out at the eleventh hour after facing issues with his back again in a match-simulation training.
Jasprit Bumrah has not been included in the Indian squad for the Border-Gavaskar trophy in January 2023. He is also didn’t play World Test Champion Ship (WTC) final.
Bumrah missed the 2023 IPL due to injury and is likely to be back only close to the 2023 World Cup later this year.
It is not clear when Jasprit Bumrah will come back to the Indian cricket team, but the Indian team management has made it clear that they won’t take any chances with Bumrah. Even if the pacer feels a minor issue with his body, he will be given a break.
