Sports Desk – legendary pacer Lasith Malinga claimed 3-38 in his farewell match as Sri lanka defeated Bangladesh by 91 runs in the 1st one-day international to take 1-0 lead in a three-match series in Colombo on Friday. Malinga helped Sri Lanka rattle Bangladesh with his opening spell after Kusal Perera‘s fifth ODI century powered the home side to post 314/8. Perera high Scorer 111 off 99 balls.
Chasing a 315, Bangladesh faltered after a couple of good partnerships and subsequently got out for 223 in 41.4 overs. After recovering from the 40/4, Bangladesh batters took their team to 105/4 in 20 overs. After 38.3 overs, Bangladesh were 200/9. Malinga and Nuwan Pradeep (3-51) shared 6 wickets as Sri Lanka bowled out Bangladesh for 223 in 41.4 overs.
