Sports Desk – The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise team Mumbai Indians star fast bowler Lasith Malinga will not be able to play in the upcoming season. On Wednesday, Malinga informed that he will not be a part of the Mumbai team this season. He is replaced by James Pattinson of Australia.
The IPL is to start from September 19. The team of Mumbai Indians has reached preparations by reaching the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The franchise confirmed that Malinga has opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons. “Lasith Malinga has requested unavailability for the season for personal reasons and to be with family back home in Sri Lanka,” the statement from the franchise read.
