The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has announced that a stand at Wankhede Stadium will be named after India’s Test and ODI captain, Rohit Sharma. The Divecha Pavilion Level 3 will now be called the Rohit Sharma Stand, honoring his significant contributions to Indian cricket. This decision was made during the MCA’s 86th Annual General Meeting on April 15, 2025.
MCA President Ajinkya Naik emphasized the importance of recognizing cricketing stalwarts, stating, “These stands and this lounge shall forever echo the legacy of those who built Mumbai’s cricketing spirit — brick by brick, run by run”. Alongside this, two other stands were renamed: Grand Stand Level 3 as Sharad Pawar Stand and Grand Stand Level 4 as Ajit Wadekar Stand.
