His strike rate during this innings was 206.45.

New Zealand veteran Brendon McCallum had a brilliant inning of 158 runs in the first match of the first season against Royal Challengers Bangalore at a strike rate of 216.43 in 73 balls. In this innings, he hit 13 sixes and 10 fours.

Chris Gayle holds the record for most sixes in an innings of a single match in the Indian Premier League. He had a record 175 runs in the 2013 season against Pune Vires at a strike rate of 265.15 in 66 balls, which included 13 fours and 17 sixes. Thanks to this brilliant inning of Gayle, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 26 runs in 20 overs against Pune Warriors in that match. While Pune Warner could only manage 133 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
