India has announced the squad for a three-match home test series against New Zealand. The series will start on 16th October where the first match will be played in Bengaluru. BCCI on Friday announced the 15-member squad for the New Zealand series. It will be an important series for team India as they are on the verge of qualifying for the WTC final in 2025. India will play this series in their home where they are very strong. Venues of the series are, Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai. BCCI has also announced 4 travel reserves with the squad.
As expected, Rohit Sharma will lead the side but an interesting thing from the squad announcement is that Bumrah is named as vice-captain of the series which is putting questions in the minds of the fans as if Rohit can leave in between series. Also, there are rumours that Rohit can miss the first test of the BGT series. Travel reserves are Harshit Rana, Nitesh Kumar Reddy, Mayak Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna.
