In this match Bangladesh won the toss and opt to bowl. Jason Roy (153) and Jonny Bairstow (64) powered England to 386/6 against Bangladesh. Jason Roy recorded the second highest score by an England batsman in World Cup history.
All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (121) also scored a ton for Bangladesh but lacked support from the other end in the team’s quest to overhaul the target.

Shakib Al Hasan overtook Joe Root in the runs tally after the England vice-captain had an ordinary outing in the middle. Shakib, on the other hand, bagged his 7th consecutive 50+ score in ODI cricket, third in this World Cup, as he occupied the summit position.
