All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan on Monday touched down a new milestone in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. Plying his trade in the England and Wales World Cup for the Asian giant-killers, Shakib became the first Bangladeshi batsman to score 1000 runs at the grandest stages of them all.
The 32-year-old dethroned Shakib Al Hasan from the spot with a total of 476 runs in 6 appearances. While Warner is second with 447 runs, the swashbuckling Aussie opener is closely followed by English batsman Joe Root, who has smashed 424 runs. India vice-captain Rohit Sharma is sixth with his tally of 320 runs in four games.
