ICC in 2021 announced the list of all ICC tournaments between 2021 to 2030. In that list, it was found that ICC is bringing the Champions Trophy back in 2025 with Pakistan being the host of the tournament. It was an initiative by the ICC to restart ICC tournaments in Pakistan after a very long time. Since that day discussions have been going on about whether India will go to Pakistan or not and now 2025 is just one month away and ICC has finally decided to introduce a hybrid model.
In the recent ICC meeting with Jay Shah, the head of ICC has finally concluded that Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in a Hybrid Model in which all the matches of India will be played at a neutral venue, and in return, Pakistan demanded that they will also play India at a neutral venue in all the upcoming ICC events.
In a recent ICC meeting, it was decided that from 2024 to 2027 India and Pakistan will play against each other at a neutral venue when either of the countries is host of the tournament. In the 2026 T20 World Cup, Pakistan will play its matches in Sri Lanka.
