South Africa is playing against Bangladesh in their home in a two-match test series. It is never an easy job for the visiting teams to win in Bangladesh as they produce rank-turners in their home test matches. It is not easy for overseas batters to play in those conditions. In this article, we will tell you how South Africa broke this dilemma and ended their long-awaited drought.
South Africa and every other overseas country find it very difficult to play in the subcontinent. They struggle to bat in these conditions as they are very soon friendly and traditionally overseas batters do not play spin well. India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh try to maintain their home dominance by defeating these teams in home conditions.
But South Africa surpassed all the difficulties and emerged as winners of the first test which was played in Mirpur. Bangladesh found themselves in trouble after getting all out for 106 in the first innings and in return, South Africa made 308 and won the match by 7 wickets. Players like Verreynne and Kagiso Rabada are stars of South Africa in the match.
Now the drought which is over for South Africa is that they have now won a test match in the subcontinent after 3749 days. Not a series but a single match in the Asian conditions.
