WTC or World Test Championship is the new ICC trophy introduced by ICC in 2019. It is currently the third cycle of the WTC going on and we are almost at the end of getting our two finalists. In this article, we will tell you the Chance of qualification of every team in the WTC final.
In the past two WTC finals which were played in 2021 and 2023, it was India who was common in both the finals. The first final was between India and New Zealand where New Zealand defeated India and the second final in 2023 in Oval, England was between India and Australia where Australia defeated India. In the ongoing scenario of the WTC table, it is looking like India will once again make their place in the WTC final. They have the highest chance of 33% to play the final of the WTC.
When it comes to second finalists Australia has the brightest chance of 27% as they have a home test series left to play against India in 2024 December. At No.3 we have unexpectedly Sri Lanka who are now having a very strong chance of 12% to play in the WTC final. They have one home test left against New Zealand. At No.3 and No.4, we have New Zealand and South Africa who have a 10% chance each of qualifying in the WTC final.

Teams like England and Bangladesh have 2% and 3% chances of playing in the WTC final. Pakistan and West Indies have practically no chance of playing in the WTC final of the third cycle as mathematically they have a 1% chance each of qualifying.
