Lakshya had beaten Cordon 21-8, 22-20 on Saturday in a 42-minute match when Cordon withdrew. In barely 14 minutes, the Indian shuttler won the first game with a dominant performance.
In the second game, Cordon rallied and had four game points, but the 22-year-old Indian showed incredible fortitude by winning six straight points to win the match.
