According to reports regarding his future at Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return to Manchester United.
Ronaldo signed with Al Nassr at the start of January 2023 after leaving United in November 2022 after his contract was terminated.
Although sources suggest that the club is willing to extend that further, the 39-year-old’s contract with the Saudi Pro League team is set to expire in the summer of 2025.
According to reports regarding his future at Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return to Manchester United.
Ronaldo began the season with six goals in eight games after scoring 35 goals in 31 Saudi Pro League games the previous season, which helped him become the best goalscorer of 2023 across a few prominent European divisions.
However, a rival Saudi Arabian team is interested in signing him, according to Action Ma3 Waleed (via SPORT).
Despite the 31-year-old Neymar’s recent comeback to activity following an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, it is rumored that Al Hilal is debating whether to end the Brazilian star’s contract in January.
The club is ‘dreaming’ of recruiting Ronaldo to replace him, according to the article, even though the Portugal icon stated in August that Al Nassr would ‘probably’ be his final club before retiring.
If so, when will Ronaldo return to Man Utd?
Teddy Sheringham, a former striker for Manchester United, has hinted that Ronaldo would join United if Ruben Amorim, a native, takes over as manager on November 11.
Amorim, who earned 14 caps between 2010 and 2014, was Ronaldo’s former international teammate. Additionally, the two are of the same age, which may add to the impressiveness of current Sporting manager Amorim’s management accomplishments to date.
Sheringham acknowledges, however, that Ronaldo is unlikely to return to Old Trafford, especially if it were to serve as a coach.

He told Flashscore: “Cristiano Ronaldo would be very welcome back at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim.
“But he is on to bigger and better things. I think Ronaldo will follow in the path of David Beckham in doing things away from coaching, higher profile things around the world.
“I’m sure he’d be very, very welcome in any capacity coming back to the club, but I doubt that he’ll be a coach.”
