Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett has stated his desire to hit Bruno Fernandes in the face.
The 28-year-old UFC star returns to the octagon this weekend as part of a packed UFC 296 card. He will face American Tony Ferguson before the main event between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington.
Pimblett was interviewed by TNT Sports ahead of the battle and was given three footballers with whom he would train, fight, and avoid.
When told that the three players were Erling Haaland, Bruno Fernandes, and Jordan Pickford, Liverpool fan Pimblett responded, “Train with Haaland, punch Fernandes’ head in, and avoid Pickford.”
This is not Pimblett’s first encounter with a football-related question. Back in 2022, he was asked who he would most like to fight.
“Last season, when he first got signed, it was Bruno Fernandes because of how overrated he was,” he told Ray Parlour and Alan Brazil on Pub Talk, via Sportskeeda.
“But now, it’s Bernardo Silva. I don’t know anyone who likes Bernardo Silva… He is a horrible wrong’un. He’s a piece of sh*t, yeah. That time when they gave us a guard of honor and he just stood there.”
Pimblett was in excellent form as he took aim at Ferguson during the news conference ahead of the fight this weekend.
He said: “I can’t believe you’ve actually got a suit on, lad. Every other day you are like an eight-year-old who has dressed himself for the first time. You look like a f****** idiot!
“Put the mic down, with your s**** watch on. Did you get that watch out of a Kinder Egg? You f****** bum!”

Ferguson, on the other hand, is convinced that he can accomplish the job when the two clash inside the octagon on Saturday night in the United States.
The American said: “It’s going to go the way I want. I’ve already visualized it, I’ve trained my ass off, I don’t see this kid beating me.
“He’s worried about me blocking him on Instagram, sensitive little b******. Wait until you get cut, see your own blood, you’re gonna run out of the cage back to mummy.”
