The much-discussed career path of Kylian Mbappe and whether his talent is being wasted at Paris Saint-Germain is a hot issue right now.
PSG endured another humiliating Champions League defeat on Wednesday, as goals from Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff, and Fabian Schar secured a historic triumph for the Magpies.
Lucas Hernandez scored following a beautiful ball from young midfielder Warren Zare-Emery, who was undoubtedly their best player on the night.
However, the majority of PSG’s players struggled at St James’ Park, notably captain Kylian Mbappe, who has been upset by his team’s lack of European advancement since coming in 2017.
Mbappe’s lack of trophies outside of Ligue 1 has long been a source of discussion. In the summer, he was extensively linked with a move to Real Madrid, but nothing came of it.
Many people are now debating his age and if the World Cup winner should move on before it’s too late.
One Fan Wrote: “He will never win UCL with PSG.”
Another said: “Kylian Mbappé still playing at PSG and Ligue 1 at the age of 25 is very sad to see. A player with his talent shouldn’t be spending 9 seasons there.”
A third commented: “Mbappe is going to be 25 in a few months and he’s still at PSG, this guy is wasting his talent man.”
Despite continuous rumors of a transfer to Real Madrid, PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi claimed last month that Mbappe would extend his contract to 2025.
“Kylian is committed to PSG,” Al-Khelaifi said to the PSG players. “Kylian is back.”
The French international had some issues with PSG’s board at the start of the season, but he somehow managed to make his place in the first team.
