Coach Fernando Diniz chose Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus from a list of 36 players provided to FIFA to replace the 23-year-old.
Brazil is gearing up for World Cup qualifying matches against Bolivia and Peru.
The charges of physical assault made by Antony’s former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin have already been publicized in local media.
When Antony was called up to the team, the case was already the subject of a police investigation, according to the sports portal Globoesporte, although the content of some of the claims had not yet been made public.

On Monday, the athlete denied the charges once more on Instagram, claiming he was the “victim of false accusations.”
“I can calmly affirm that the accusations are false, and that evidence already produced and that will be produced will show that I am innocent,” Antony said.
The denial followed the publication of WhatsApp texts reportedly between Antony and Cavallin in which the footballer allegedly threatened his ex-partner.
Brazil will play Bolivia on September 8 and Peru on September 12 in their first qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
