ICC has released record prize money for the T20 World Cup 2024. It is the 9th edition of the T20 World Cups and it is for the first time that 20 teams are participating in the tournament. In this article, we will tell you the prize money for the T20 World Cup 2024.
T20 World Cup 2024 Prize Money
- Total budget – The total budget of the 2024 T20 World Cup is 11.25 million USD which is equal to 93.52 crore in INR. It is a very high budget when it comes to T20 World Cups.
- Winner – winners of the T20 World Cup 2024 will get 2.45 million USD which is equal to 20.37 crore in INR. It will be the first time that the winner will get this much.
- Runner-ups – the team who will come second or who will lose final will get 1.28 million USD which is equal to 10.64 crore INR.
- Semi-finalists – teams who will lose their semifinal encounters will get 6.55 crore INR each.
- Super 8 teams – once the group stage is over top two teams of each group will form Super 8. Each team of the Super 8 will get 3.18 crore INR.
- Teams finishing from 9 to 12 – teams who could not make it into the Super 8 but finished at No.3 in their respective groups will get 2.06 crore INR each.
- Teams finishing from 13 to 20 – ICC has left no one when it comes to distributing the prize money. Even the teams finishing at No.4 and No.5 of their respective groups will get 1.87 crores INR each.

One additional prize will be for winning. On every win, each team will get 25.92 lakhs INR. For every win in T20 World Cup 2024, there will be prize money.
T20 World Cup 2022 Teams Prize Money
#5 Australia
Australia who was the host of the T20 world cup 2022 won a cash prize of 1.53 crores in the T20 World Cup. Australia failed to qualify for the semi-finals which was a big upset for them because they were favourites of many before the cup.
#4 New Zealand
Number fourth on our list is New Zealand who finished as table toppers of group 1. They were out in the semi-finals after their loss against Pakistan. But they won a cash prize of 4.19 crores.
#3 India
India was the favourites of many before the cup and to be honest they were looking very dangerous side in the group stage but their campaign ended in the semi-finals where they faced an embarrassing defeat against England. India won a cash prize of 4.50 crores.
#2 Pakistan
It was a world cup to remember for Pakistan. From standing at the gate of elimination to playing in the finals, Pakistan came a long way. But unfortunately, their campaign ended in the finals where they faced defeat against England and they became runners-up with a cash prize of 7.40 crores.
#1 England
England’s white-ball approach is turning out to be a success for them because they are now both ODI world champions and T20 world champions. England finished in the second spot in their group but they finished at the top in the end, lifting the cup. England won a cash prize of 13.84 crores in T20 World Cup 2022.
