Here we show you some crazy stats related to Real Madrid’s iconic midfield trio
Real Madrid is probably the greatest club in football history when it comes to title winning milestones. But what is it that makes them such a huge sporting unit?
In 2009, Madrid signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United which was one of the most expensive transfer deals of all time. And now we all know him as the second highest goalscorer for a club, the first being Lionel Messi who has scored more than 500 goals for Barcelona.
In 2011, the Spanish club signed Karim Benzema who went on becoming their second highest goalscorer of all time. Two years later, a new front three was known to be called as ‘BBC’ (Bale Benzema Cristiano) since Madrid had signed Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur.
But this was just the beginning of Madrid’s legendary title winning milestones. In 2012, Florentino Perez signed Bermuda Triangle’s fist player Luka Modric. His first season for the club was not as good as they expected but he showed the world his capabilities later.

Following Luka’s arrival, the Los Blancos signed the other two players of the triangle – Casemiro and Toni Kroos in 2014. After a complete chemistry synchronization of both the trios, Madrid won three consecutive Champions League titles and several major trophies under Zinedine Zidane.
But every beginning has an end and we have seen it so many times. Manchester United signed Casemiro in 2022 for €70 million, making him the second most expensive over-30 player in football history, the first being Cristiano Ronaldo himself.
