#5 Virender Sehwag
Virender Sehwag made his T20 captaincy debut in 2006. He was among the first captains who led India in the T20 format which was very new at that time. Sehwag was 28 years and 42 days old when he led India in 2006.
#4 Ajinkya Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane has always been a temporary captain for the Indian team and surprisingly he led India in all three formats in the past. Rahane made his T20I captaincy debut at the age of 27 years and 41 days in 2015.

MS Dhoni is India’s most successful captain in all the formats and his captaincy career started with the shortest format of the game. Dhoni’s captaincy career started in the 2007 inaugural T20 world cup. T20 format was completely at that time. Dhoni was only 26 years and 68 days when he took charge of the Indian team.

Young Rishabh Pant made his captaincy debut against South Africa in 2022. Pant was vice-captain before the series but after the injury of KL Rahul, he was given the chance to lead team India. Pant was 24 years and 248 days old when he led the Indian team against South Africa.

Suresh Raina was given the captaincy of team India for only 3 matches in 2010-2011. He was only 23 years and 197 days of age when he led the Indian team in T20Is. Raina was a great player for India in all the formats and especially in the T20 format he was incredible. He was also India’s first batsman to score a century in the T20 format.
