Liverpool has signed Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig
This has been Liverpool’s one of the worst season ever but they still managed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool had serious problems with their injuries this season. Virgil Van Dijk, who is their main defender wasn’t available for almost the whole season.
However, the club has decided to make some changes in order to heal back their good form. They have signed center-back Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig recently.
Konate has joined Liverpool for £36m. He was an unused substitute in both matches when the two sides met in the Champions League earlier this year
Georginio Wijnaldum has already left the club after a confirmation statement from him. He just need to sign some papers to join Barcelona this summer.
The 22-year-old French centre-back made 21 appearances for Leipzig this season including eight Bundesliga starts. The club finished second, 13 points behind champions Bayern Munich on the points table.
“I’m really happy to be joining such a massive club like Liverpool,” Konate said.
“It’s a really exciting moment for me and my family and I am really looking forward to meeting my new team-mates, the staff and getting started on this new chapter.”
Liverpool’s injuries resulted in their bad team management, though Jurgen Klopp helped the team to finish at 3rd place.
