Cristiano Ronaldo’s last minute goal was declared disallowed by line referee
On Sunday, Portugal played a 2-2 draw with Serbia. Serbia did a beautiful comeback against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in the second half.
But the tie could have turned into a win for Portugal if the line referee checked the VAR. Ronaldo went frustrated after his goal was disallowed.
The thing is right! If football have the review technology (VAR), why wouldn’t the referee checked it? If the referee called for VAR, Ronaldo’s goal would have been given.
Ronaldo went frustrated off the field when he was given a yellow card for scoring a goal. It is the first time in football history that a player was booked for scoring a goal which is unfair.
Ronaldo asked the line referee for the VAR but his call was declined and the field referee gave him a yellow card (he was booked).
He was booked which means that if he gets a yellow card in the next match (which is against Luxembourg) he would definitely miss his next to next match.
