Portugal Star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first person to reach the 300 million followers mark on Instagram and this tally is only bettered by the social media platform itself with 540.3 million followers.

Ariana Grande follows Ronaldo with 244 million followers. Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) comes in after Grande with 246 million followers. Selena Gomez comes in after Johnson with 238 million followers and she closes the top five followed accounts.
